Licensed Child Care
Our Before and After School Child Care programs are available:
in two school locations: Jersey P.S. and Fairwood P.S. These Before and After School programs provide a Ministry of Education licensed and quality care for children ages 4 to 12. Our Before and After Care programs follow How Does Learning Happen?, Ontario’s Pedagogy for Early Learning. We provide breakfast and afternoon snacks, outdoor and indoor play, arts and crafts, science, community building, health and wellness, literacy activities, and child-led play. As of September 2023 kindergarten Before and After School Care will be available at Deer Park P.S. and Morning Glory P.S. Jericho has opted in to the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Plan (CWELCC) to offer $12/b & a and $22.21/full-day kindergarten rates.
Our educators are highly qualified, trained, and experienced individuals, led by supervisors who are members in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Each of our staff are trained in First Aid and CPR, High-Five Principles of Healthy Child Development, and participate in ongoing professional development through Jericho Youth Services and external trainers.
Full-time care is available on school professional development days, winter and spring break, and during the summer months.

York Region helps make child care more affordable for families with low and moderate income, by offering a Child Care Fee Subsidy that reduces the amount of money that families have to pay licensed child care providers to care for their child(ren) under the age of 13. This is a first-come-first-served program.

* Fees effective as of January 1, 2023. Please note that times of operation may vary based on demand. Minimum enrollment for before care is 5, aftercare, P.A Day, Holiday and March Break is 10. Fees are charged twice a month on the first and 16th of each month in advance of attendance. In the event school does not resume full time, full daycare may be offered for those days and full rates apply for child care.
