Experience Boxes

When schools were closed from winter break till February 17 and then again after April Break, we figured out a way to still stay in touch with our after school and child care participants. We knew that kids were getting tired of spending time in front of their computers and tablets and we wanted to support them in being active. Thus the Experience Boxes were invented.

Our staff have been busy making activity books and crafts that could easily be included in a small box or a bag, along with sourcing all the supplies. All boxes were delivered to the participants’ homes and this is what the happy families said:

“Thank you so much for doing that and trying to make this a little bit more fun for the kids”

“They both enjoy the crafts and activities at Jericho’s afterschool program and would love to continue at home.”

“This is a wonderful idea! I know Makayla really misses coming to the after school program.”

“Thanks again this is such a wonderful and generous idea. They say that they miss Jericho even more!”

We miss seeing everyone at the program and hope families had fun doing these activities together!
